This piece is inspired by one of my favorite places in my favorite city, Chicago. The sculpture Flamingo by Alexander Calder is located in a plaza surrounded by Mies Van Der Rohe's buildings. Although I don't really see the flamingo's resemblance, I've always loved the striking red silhouette and how the negative space perfectly frames the city's beautiful skyline.
