This piece was created as a project for one of my high school art classes and remains one of my favorites. It captures the beauty found in the ordinary, focusing on a simple fire escape on an older building in the Chicagoland area. Now, as an architect and artist, I see this piece as a reflection of who I was at 15 years old, drawn to the details, structures, and overlooked moments that continue to inspire me today. It represents a lifelong appreciation for finding beauty in everyday places and the elements that create a sense of home.
